Real Life. Real Laughs. Real Jesus.
Isaiah 40:29 Devotional for the Worn-Out Mom
đ âHe giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.â â Isaiah 40:29 (KJV)
đ Real Talk
Thereâs a version of motherhood I imagined before kids.
She always had a snack bag ready.
Her laundry was folded by color.
Her voice was softâeven during tantrums.
She smiled with her eyes and had a Bible verse for every meltdown.
And then I became⌠me.
Most days, I feel like Iâm behind.
Behind on dishes.
Behind on work.
Behind on bedtime routines and patience and self-control.
Iâm not failingâIâm just carrying a lot.
And maybe, so are you.
đ Truth to Hold Onto
Isaiah 40:29 says:
âHe gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.â
It doesnât say He blesses the Pinterest-perfect.
It doesnât say He helps the organized, the calm, the already thriving.
It says He gives strength to the weary.
To the ones at the end of themselves.
To the mom hiding in the bathroom.
To the woman who doesnât even know what to pray anymore.
He sees you in the undone-ness.
And He meets you there.
đ Prayer for the Weary Heart
Lord,
You never asked me to hold it all togetherâjust to hold onto You.
You see what Iâm carrying.
You know the mental lists, the invisible labor, the emotional weight I donât say out loud.
I donât need more perfection. I need more of You.
Meet me in the mess and strengthen whatâs barely holding.
Amen.
đŹ Encouragement for You (and a Friend)
If youâre feeling like youâre running on empty today, I want to whisper this truth to your heart:
Youâre not falling short.
Youâre just doing hard things.
And He is still offering strength, right where youâre worn thin.
You donât have to have it all together.
Because He already does.
