August Meal Plan – Feeding Them with Faith (and a Little Garlic Powder)

By Lizzie @ What Makes My Kid Cry Today

Real Life. Real Laughs. Real Jesus.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.” — Proverbs 31:25

Dear Friend,

There’s a quiet kind of miracle that happens when a mom stands at the stove.

It might not look like loaves and fishes. It may not get applause or even a thank you. But when we feed our families—day in and day out—with love, with faith, and with the few dollars left in our grocery envelope… friend, that is holy work.

This month, our August dinner plan leans into nourishment—both for the body and the soul. We’re still shopping smart and stretching our meals on a tight budget, but we’re aiming for “healthier-ish” choices that honor the bodies God gave us… while also recognizing that frozen broccoli and boxed pasta sometimes are a love offering.

We’re not aiming for perfect. We’re aiming for peace.

And peace often starts with a plan.

So here’s the plan: 31 days of real dinners for real families, rooted in grace, grounded in reality, and sprinkled with garlic powder, because that’s our love language now.

What’s on the Table This Month

This isn’t a gourmet plan or a Pinterest-perfect layout. It’s real food for real families — built on what we already have, what’s affordable, and what our people will actually eat.

🙏 Feeding Our Family with Faith

It’s not just about feeding seven people. It’s about faithfulness.

It’s the act of planning and trusting that there will be enough. It’s seeing God’s fingerprints on clearance aisles and BOGO sales. It’s teaching our kids that gratitude isn’t about abundance — it’s about recognizing the Giver in the midst of simplicity.

And maybe, just maybe, it’s sitting at the table with PB&J and a little less stress… knowing that God sees, God knows, and God provides.

📖 Scripture for the Week

“The eyes of all look to You, and You give them their food in due season. You open Your hand and satisfy the desires of every living thing.” —Psalm 145:15–16

Closing Encouragement:

This month, whether your table holds feast or frugal favorites, may your heart be full. Because God isn’t just providing groceries—He’s providing grace. And that’s always enough.
