By Lizzie @ What Makes My Kid Cry Today
Real Life. Real Laughs. Real Jesus.
Real talk?
Sometimes being a mom means catching mistakes just in timeâ
like when youâre fixing a snack and accidentally spray ant killer on the apple meant for your child.
Yeah. That happened.
I was in the kitchen, multitasking my way through lunchtime:
One kid wanted an apple. Another was talking nonstop about Minecraft. And my middle child was melting down because someone looked at him funny.
In the blur of noise and chaos, I reached for the bottle I thought was fruit washâŚ
Spoiler:
It was ant spray.
And I sprayed it.
On the apple.
And nearly handed it over.
đ§ Mom Brain Is Real
This isnât about being careless.
Itâs about the mental Olympics of motherhoodâ
where youâre constantly interrupted, constantly needed, constantly balancing 3 conversations and 5 tasks with a prayer and a sticky note.
Sometimes, you mess up.
And sometimes, a middle child tantrum saves the day.
đ Grace Shows Up in the Gaps
I caught the mistake.
The apple was trashed.
No one got poisoned.
And I just stood there thinking:
âLord, thank You for distractions that turned out to be protection.â
đ If Youâre in the Thick of It:
If your brain feels foggy,
If youâre saying things like âStop licking the floorâ or âDonât baptize the cat in juice,â
If youâre trying your best and still fumblingâ
Youâre not alone.
Youâre not failing.
Youâre just living in the holy tension of motherhood, where the absurd and the sacred collide daily.
Godâs grace is covering the parts you missed.
Even when you grab the wrong spray bottle.
