🍽️ Odds of a Mom Eating First: A Hot Meal & a Heavenly Reminder

By Lizzie @ What Makes My Kid Cry Today

Real Life. Real Laughs. Real Jesus.

Let’s play a little game:

What are the odds of a mom eating her food while it’s still warm?

A) 1 in 50

B) 1 in 100

C) Is this a trick question?

Because unless the stars align and the Lord parts the lunchtime chaos like the Red Sea, my food is either cold or eaten in three toddler-interrupted bites… somewhere near the sink.

And don’t even get me started on coffee. If I ever drink it hot, it’s either the Lord’s favor or I forgot I made it and accidentally reheated it six times.

But here’s the thing I’m learning: while I’m often last in line at the table, God never puts me last in line for His presence.

✨ Heavenly Perspective in the Daily Delay

In Luke 12:27, Jesus said:

“Consider how the wildflowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.”

That verse reminds me—God sees the small. He sees the mom scraping her plate last while cutting grapes into fourths and trying to find the ketchup. He provides not just for my plate, but for my peace.

☕ When My Coffee’s Cold, But His Grace Is Hot

I might not sip my coffee while it’s hot, but I can still sip from the cup of grace He pours out daily.

Grace that says: “You are seen.”

Grace that says: “Your sacrifices matter.”

Grace that says: “Even in cold meals and reheated coffee, I am with you.”

So maybe the odds are slim that I’ll eat first. But the odds that God is faithful in every moment? That’s 100%.
