What made my kid cry today?
I gave them animal crackers.
A perfectly normal snack.
A beloved classic.
One child was thrilled.
The other?
Absolutely devastated.
Because — and I quote —
“There’s no horses.”
😢😢😢😢
🤣🤣🤣🤣
The world tilted.
The injustice echoed through the kitchen.
I offered a second cookie. A lion.
He looked me in the eyes like I had personally offended the entire barnyard.
🐴 Perspective (and maybe a little grace):
To me, it was a $2 snack.
To him, it was a dream crushed under the weight of horse-less carbs.
Because to our kids, the little things are big things.
And sometimes I forget that.
But God doesn’t.
He doesn’t dismiss what feels big to us — even when others might.
“The Lord is close to the brokenhearted.” —Psalm 34:18
So maybe today, instead of brushing off the tears over missing horses, I can offer presence.
And maybe a camel.

Drop it in the comments. I need to know I’m not the only one building emotional resilience one snack at a time.
