This week didn’t go the way I planned.
Every Thursday, I post a new podcast episode — and I fully intended to do that again. I had my title. I had ideas written down. I was ready.
But my body wasn’t. I’ve been a little under the weather, moving slower than usual, and instead of recording — I rested. And at first, I felt guilty. Guilty for falling behind. Guilty for not sticking to the plan. Guilty for not doing what I “said I would do.”
But sitting in that quiet space, God whispered something to my heart I didn’t even realize I needed to hear:
Just because something is delayed, doesn’t mean it’s no longer useful.
Delayed doesn’t mean forgotten.
Delayed doesn’t mean God can’t still deliver it.
When Life Doesn’t Stay on Schedule
We’re really good at making plans, aren’t we?
We schedule, prepare, set reminders, write notes… and then life shifts. Kids get sick. We get exhausted. Our body needs rest. The energy just isn’t there. And we feel like we’ve failed.
But what if we haven’t failed at all?
What if the pause is actually part of the plan?
What if obedience sometimes looks like stopping instead of continuing?
This week taught me something gentle but powerful:
Rest isn’t rebellion. Sometimes rest is obedience.
God Still Shows Up in Delays
There’s a verse in Habakkuk that says:
“Though it delays, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not be late.”
– Habakkuk 2:3
God’s timing is never broken because ours is. He isn’t panicking over the delay. He isn’t disappointed in us for needing to breathe.
Another reminder came from Lamentations:
“His mercies are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”
– Lamentations 3:22–23
New mercies. Every morning. Not just the mornings we’re productive. Not just the days we’re on time. Every morning.
Maybe You Need This Too
So if you’re reading this and feeling behind — like you missed something important, or you’re late, or life knocked you off schedule — this is for you.
❤️ You are not failing because you’re not on time.
❤️ God does not love you based on your level of productivity.
❤️ The plans that feel delayed are not ruined in God’s hands.
❤️ He can still deliver exactly what He wants to — even if it shows up later than you hoped.
The Episode Still Arrived
So yes — this episode didn’t come out on Thursday.
But here it is now.
Delayed… but still delivered.
And maybe that’s exactly how God wanted it. Not rushed. Not forced. But released in His timing. Maybe someone needed to hear it today — not three days ago.

A Simple Prayer
God, thank You that Your timing is perfect even when mine isn’t.
Thank You for grace in the delay, for love that doesn’t depend on productivity, and for new mercies every morning.
Help me to rest when I need to, trust when things don’t happen on my schedule, and believe that You can still deliver what You’ve promised. Amen.
Keep Going, Even Slowly
If you’re in a season of waiting, slowing down, healing, or feeling behind — be gentle with yourself. God is still working. He’s not late. And neither are you.
Sometimes it’s delayed…
But it’s still delivered. 💛
