• Where Does He Get His Energy From? ⚡

If you’re a parent, you’ve probably asked this question a hundred times: “Where does my child get all this energy from?” My boys can run circles around me — literally — while I’m just trying to get through a grocery trip or survive the bedtime routine. And honestly, there are days I wish I could bottle that energy and sell it. 😂

But here’s the thing: as funny (and exhausting) as our kids’ bursts of energy can be, they also remind me of something important. Their never-ending energy points me back to the true source of my strength.

When I feel worn out, stretched thin, or completely drained, I’m reminded of Isaiah 40:31:

“But they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Our kids’ energy may seem limitless, but the truth is, so is God’s. And while I may not be able to keep up with four boys running wild, I can lean into God’s promise to renew my strength day by day.

So the next time you’re watching your child bounce off the walls (while you sip coffee just to function ☕), remember this: you don’t have to have it all together, and you don’t need endless energy. God has enough strength for both you and your little ones. 💛

    Reflection Question:

When was the last time you felt completely drained — and how did you see God show up with strength you didn’t have on your own?

  • Mommy Meltdown Monday — “I Cried in the Laundry Room”

This morning I cried in the laundry room.
Not a soft, poetic tear — a full-body, silent scream kind of cry.
Because someone spilled milk on the floor I just mopped,
someone else said they hated toast today (even though they loved it yesterday),
and I realized I had been up for three hours but hadn’t sat down once.

    Welcome to Mommy Meltdown Monday.

🤯 Because Sometimes the Reset Button Is Missing

Mondays hit different when you’re the mom.
There’s no slow start, no extra sleep, no clean kitchen.
Just packed lunches, missing shoes, spilled coffee, and that weird sticky spot on the floor you still haven’t found the source of.

Sometimes the meltdown comes from the kids.
    But sometimes?
    It’s from us.

    📖 But Here’s What I’m Learning (Again):

“Come to Me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” —Matthew 11:28

Jesus doesn’t wait for us to calm down before He draws near.
He meets us in the middle of the meltdown — mascara-streaked, throat-tight, and surrounded by chaos.

Rest doesn’t always look like naps or bubble baths.
Sometimes it’s a quiet breath in the laundry room and the whisper,

“Lord, I can’t. But You can.”

🙏 Prayer for the Mama Who’s Done (but Not Really):

God, I’m tired. Not just physically — heart-tired.
Remind me I’m not holding this whole family together.
    You are.
Give me grace for the mess, patience for the people, and peace for the Monday. Amen.

💛 If You’re Crying in the Laundry Room Too…

    You’re not alone.
    You’re not broken.
You’re a mom doing sacred work in the middle of a messy life.

    And that meltdown?
    It doesn’t mean you’re failing.
    It just means you’re human.
Still loved. Still called. Still held.

  • 🍽️ Odds of a Mom Eating First: A Hot Meal & a Heavenly Reminder

By Lizzie @ What Makes My Kid Cry Today

Real Life. Real Laughs. Real Jesus.

    Let’s play a little game:

What are the odds of a mom eating her food while it’s still warm?

    A) 1 in 50

    B) 1 in 100

    C) Is this a trick question?

Because unless the stars align and the Lord parts the lunchtime chaos like the Red Sea, my food is either cold or eaten in three toddler-interrupted bites… somewhere near the sink.

And don’t even get me started on coffee. If I ever drink it hot, it’s either the Lord’s favor or I forgot I made it and accidentally reheated it six times.

But here’s the thing I’m learning: while I’m often last in line at the table, God never puts me last in line for His presence.

✨ Heavenly Perspective in the Daily Delay

    In Luke 12:27, Jesus said:

“Consider how the wildflowers grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you, not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these.”

That verse reminds me—God sees the small. He sees the mom scraping her plate last while cutting grapes into fourths and trying to find the ketchup. He provides not just for my plate, but for my peace.

☕ When My Coffee’s Cold, But His Grace Is Hot

I might not sip my coffee while it’s hot, but I can still sip from the cup of grace He pours out daily.

Grace that says: “You are seen.”

Grace that says: “Your sacrifices matter.”

Grace that says: “Even in cold meals and reheated coffee, I am with you.”

So maybe the odds are slim that I’ll eat first. But the odds that God is faithful in every moment? That’s 100%.
