• November Meal Plan – Thankful Hearts, Full Plates, and God’s Grace in Between

    Dear Friend,

November is here—the month where gratitude is on the calendar, but let’s be honest… it’s also the month where everything is on the calendar.

There’s school chaos. Grocery budgets. Holiday prep. And at least one child who will cry because their sandwich was cut in triangles instead of squares (again).

It’s the season of feeding many mouths and managing many emotions. And while the world is talking about Thanksgiving turkeys, we’re just trying to figure out what to make on a random Tuesday with $12, three potatoes, and a prayer.

This meal plan? It’s for you.

The tired mama. The faith-filled mama. The doing-my-best-but-someone-is-always-hungry mama.

This month’s dinners are healthier-ish, family-tested, and Aldi/Walmart-approved. They’re budget-friendly, stress-light, and free from red sauce, diced ham, avocado, lentils, zucchini, and unrealistic expectations.

Let’s nourish our families and our souls. Let’s gather, even if dinner is eaten in shifts. Let’s give thanks not just on Thanksgiving—but on the quiet nights where macaroni is enough.

✏️ What This Month’s Meal Plan Looks Like

This month, I sat down with a simple goal:
Keep dinner doable. Keep the budget tight. Keep the pressure low.

The result? A mix of warm meals, freezer finds, pantry dinners, and real-life grace for the days when cereal would also work just fine.

🙏 What I’m Holding Onto This Month

Sometimes it’s tempting to overfill our plates — literally and emotionally.

But I’m learning this: Enough is still holy.
    Simple dinners still count.
    Leftovers still nourish.
And “we’re doing sandwiches tonight” can be just as sacred as a 12-step slow cooker meal.

    📖 Scripture for November:

“I will abundantly bless her provisions; I will satisfy her poor with bread.” —Psalm 132:15

🧺 From the Heart of the Table:

We tend to think of thankfulness as a feeling.

But more often, it’s a discipline.

It’s finding gratitude on the nights when no one likes what you made.

It’s praising God when the pantry is low but the love is high.

It’s recognizing that daily bread doesn’t always mean a feast—but it does mean He hasn’t forgotten you.

Every meal you serve—whether it’s roasted chicken or boxed mac—is an offering. Every moment you choose peace over perfection is a victory. And every time you gather your people, even around something simple, you are living out the Gospel in your own kitchen.

One Less Thing on Your Plate (Besides Food)

If you’re like me, you need a plan that works. Not just one that looks good on paper. That’s why this November meal plan was built with grace, budget, and real kids in mind.

Want the plain text grocery lists and full recipes?

They’re waiting under the Free Resources tab or available by email. Because if the only thing you don’t have to plan this week is dinner? That’s a win.

    Final Blessing:

May your meals be warm, your leftovers be plenty, and your heart be full—even when your hands are tired. May you give thanks before the feast and after the chaos. And may you never forget: even in the ordinary work of feeding your family—He is near.

    With gratitude and garlic powder,

  • I’m Not Who I Used to Be (Thank God)

There are moments in life when you catch yourself thinking… wow, I wouldn’t have handled this the same way a few years ago.

It happened to me recently. One of my kids spilled something all over the counter right after I had cleaned it. The old me would’ve sighed loudly, maybe raised my voice, and let frustration take over the whole morning.

But this time? I took a breath. Handed him a paper towel. We cleaned it up together. And we moved on.

    Hours later, it hit me—

I’m not who I used to be. And thank God.

    Slow Growth Is Still Growth

I’m not saying I’ve arrived or that I get it right every time. I don’t. But when I look back, I see a difference in the woman I used to be and the woman I’m slowly becoming.

    I used to:

React quickly and then regret it later. Hold on to worries, guilt, and “what ifs.” Want control over everything—home routines, finances, timing, even God’s plans. Think I had to earn God’s love through doing more, being stronger, trying harder.

But now… even though I’m not perfect, I see signs of His work in me:

I pause more. I pray faster than I panic. I forgive sooner and let go quicker. I speak more kindly—to myself and others.

    And I realized:

This is what grace looks like when it grows.

God Doesn’t Just Save Us—He Changes Us

It’s easy to miss your own transformation because it rarely happens overnight. God usually works in whispers, not spotlights.

    📖 2 Corinthians 5:17

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has gone, the new is here.”

    📖 Philippians 1:6

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”

    📖 Isaiah 43:19

“Forget the former things… See, I am doing a new thing!”

God doesn’t expect perfection—He delights in progress. In tiny steps. In quiet victories no one else sees but Him.

When Others Still See the Old You

One of the hardest parts of growing is that people don’t always notice.

Some only remember the old you—the mistakes, the immaturity, the past.

    But here’s the truth:

God isn’t calling you by who you were. He’s calling you by who you’re becoming.

Even if they don’t see your growth yet, God does. And He’s proud of you.

Thank God I’m Not Who I Used to Be

So today, take a breath. Look back—not to feel ashamed of who you were, but to thank God for how far He’s brought you.

You’re softer than you used to be.

You’re stronger too—just in quieter ways.

    You pray differently.

    You parent differently.

    You recover quicker.

    You trust deeper.

You’re not who you used to be. Thank God.

    A Simple Prayer

God, thank You for not leaving me where You found me.

Thank You for changing me little by little, even when I didn’t notice it happening.

Help me release who I used to be and step into who You’re creating me to be.

I’m not perfect, but I’m being changed. And I’m grateful.

    Amen.

🎙 Episode Title: I’m Not Who I Used to Be (Thank God)

  • Delayed but Still Delivered

This week didn’t go the way I planned.

Every Thursday, I post a new podcast episode — and I fully intended to do that again. I had my title. I had ideas written down. I was ready.

But my body wasn’t. I’ve been a little under the weather, moving slower than usual, and instead of recording — I rested. And at first, I felt guilty. Guilty for falling behind. Guilty for not sticking to the plan. Guilty for not doing what I “said I would do.”

But sitting in that quiet space, God whispered something to my heart I didn’t even realize I needed to hear:

Just because something is delayed, doesn’t mean it’s no longer useful.

    Delayed doesn’t mean forgotten.

Delayed doesn’t mean God can’t still deliver it.

When Life Doesn’t Stay on Schedule

We’re really good at making plans, aren’t we?

We schedule, prepare, set reminders, write notes… and then life shifts. Kids get sick. We get exhausted. Our body needs rest. The energy just isn’t there. And we feel like we’ve failed.

But what if we haven’t failed at all?

What if the pause is actually part of the plan?

What if obedience sometimes looks like stopping instead of continuing?

This week taught me something gentle but powerful:

Rest isn’t rebellion. Sometimes rest is obedience.

God Still Shows Up in Delays

There’s a verse in Habakkuk that says:

“Though it delays, wait for it; it will certainly come and will not be late.”

    – Habakkuk 2:3

God’s timing is never broken because ours is. He isn’t panicking over the delay. He isn’t disappointed in us for needing to breathe.

    Another reminder came from Lamentations:

“His mercies are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness.”

    – Lamentations 3:22–23

New mercies. Every morning. Not just the mornings we’re productive. Not just the days we’re on time. Every morning.

    Maybe You Need This Too

So if you’re reading this and feeling behind — like you missed something important, or you’re late, or life knocked you off schedule — this is for you.

❤️ You are not failing because you’re not on time.

❤️ God does not love you based on your level of productivity.

❤️ The plans that feel delayed are not ruined in God’s hands.

❤️ He can still deliver exactly what He wants to — even if it shows up later than you hoped.

    The Episode Still Arrived

So yes — this episode didn’t come out on Thursday.

    But here it is now.

    Delayed… but still delivered.

And maybe that’s exactly how God wanted it. Not rushed. Not forced. But released in His timing. Maybe someone needed to hear it today — not three days ago.

    A Simple Prayer

God, thank You that Your timing is perfect even when mine isn’t.

Thank You for grace in the delay, for love that doesn’t depend on productivity, and for new mercies every morning.

Help me to rest when I need to, trust when things don’t happen on my schedule, and believe that You can still deliver what You’ve promised. Amen.

    Keep Going, Even Slowly

If you’re in a season of waiting, slowing down, healing, or feeling behind — be gentle with yourself. God is still working. He’s not late. And neither are you.

    Sometimes it’s delayed…

    But it’s still delivered. 💛
