• You’re Doing Holy Work

Even when it doesn’t feel like it.

Some days in motherhood feel anything but holy. The dishes are never done. The toddler is melting down over the wrong color cup. You forgot to switch the laundry (again). You haven’t had a quiet moment with God in days — and the only thing you prayed today was, “Lord, help.”

But friend — that is holy work.

That moment you bent low to look your child in the eye, even when you were tired? Holy.
That whispered prayer in the bathroom between chaos? Holy.
That deep breath you took instead of yelling? Holy.
That meal you made. That diaper you changed. That ride to practice.
    It’s all holy work.

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus…”
    Colossians 3:17

You don’t have to be in a pulpit or holding a microphone to be in ministry.
Raising your kids with love and grace is ministry.
Creating a safe, imperfect, Spirit-filled home is ministry.
Just showing up, in your real life, with a heart that says “yes” to God — that counts.

This week’s Mini Devotional is for the mom who feels overlooked, worn out, or like the work she’s doing doesn’t matter. I promise you — it does.

  • 🧡 When Motherhood Is Loud but You Feel Invisible

By Lizzie @ What Makes My Kid Cry Today

Real Life. Real Laughs. Real Jesus.

There are days when the house is loud—

like, Goldfish crunching in every crevice of the couch kind of loud.

Sticky floors, snack negotiations, someone yelling from the bathroom,

and always, always, at least one cup of milk unaccounted for.

And somehow, in the middle of all that noise…

    you feel completely invisible.

You’re the one who remembers the dentist appointment.

The one who finds the lost sock, again.

The one who cuts sandwiches into triangles because rectangles were “too spicy” today.

The one who quietly picks up the puzzle pieces for the 7th time

while no one says thank you.

And it’s not that you want a parade.

    But sometimes…

You just want to know that someone sees you in all of this.

    🙃 The Hard Truth:

    Motherhood is loud.

But it can also be lonely.

    💛 The Beautiful Truth:

You are never invisible to God.

He sees the tears behind your smile.

The way you keep going when you want to hide in the pantry.

    He sees your unseen sacrifices,

    your whispered prayers,

your quiet yes to showing up again today.

“You are the God who sees me.”

    — Genesis 16:13

    You’re not forgotten.

    You’re not unseen.

You are deeply, fully, lovingly known.

Even when the laundry screams louder than your name.

Even when no one says thank you for the 14 snacks.

Even when you’re holding the whole house together with coffee and Jesus and dry shampoo.

🌿 So here’s your permission today:

    You can rest.

    You can cry.

You can take five sacred minutes with your coffee and sit in the middle of the mess.

    Because you’re not alone.

    Not even for a second.

Have you ever felt invisible in the middle of motherhood noise?

I’d love to hear your heart today 💛

  • 💤 Come to Me, Mama

By Lizzie @ What Makes My Kid Cry Today

Real Life. Real Laughs. Real Jesus.

    Matthew 11:28 Devotional

📖 “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28 (KJV)

    📝 Reflection

You ever have a to-do list so long you just… stop looking at it?

Laundry piles. Dishes stacked. Crumbs that keep reappearing like tiny edible gremlins.

    Someone always needs something.

And someone else is always crying.

    Sometimes it’s the kids.

    Sometimes it’s me.

And in the middle of the swirl, Jesus whispers:

    “Come to Me.”

    Not, get it all done.

    Not, just push through.

    Not, try harder.

    Just… come.

Because He sees the weariness beneath the tasks.

    He knows we’re tired.

He’s not asking us to carry it alone.

He’s offering rest—not once the work is done, but in the middle of it.

    🙏 Prayer

    Father,

In the swirl of motherhood, the chaos of the everyday, and the noise I’ve gotten used to,

Remind me to come to You.

Not just when I’m burned out—but before.

Let my first reaction be surrender, not striving.

Help me to rest, not because everything is done, but because You are enough.

    Amen.

    💬 Take This With You

    Rest isn’t laziness.

    It’s obedience.

It’s the gift He offers when our strength runs out.

So today, take a moment to breathe.

    Turn down the mental noise.

    And hear His voice say:

“Come to Me. I’ve got you.”
