• Still Reaching for Me — Even When I’m the Villain

💭 From My Heart to Yours

There are days in motherhood when I go to bed with a pit in my stomach — not from what I didn’t do, but from what I did. The tone I used. The eye roll I gave. The punishment I handed out in the heat of frustration. The “no” that maybe didn’t need to be so sharp. And yet… on one of those very days, the same child who felt betrayed by me still reached for my hand.

That moment inspired my very first podcast episode.

    🧡 Let’s Talk About Grace

We don’t talk enough about the grace our kids give us.
We talk about mom guilt. We talk about how we fail. We talk about not having it together. But sometimes, our children are living, breathing reminders that love covers what we thought disqualified us.

In this episode, I share what happened when my son felt hurt by me — really hurt — and how he still wanted me. Still needed me. Still reached out for the very hand that corrected him.

That moment broke me wide open.

Because isn’t that exactly how God loves us?

💬 For the Mama Who Feels Like the Villain

This episode is for you — the mom who ended the day replaying her mistakes in her head.
The one who wanted to be gentler.
The one who hopes grace shows up again tomorrow.

    Friend, you’re not alone.
    You’re still being reached for.
And that speaks louder than anything you did wrong today.

  • 🧃 Mom Mythbusters: If I Plan It All, Nothing Will Go Wrong

By Lizzie @ What Makes My Kid Cry Today

Real Life. Real Laughs. Real Jesus.

Myth: If I just plan every detail, color-code the calendar, prep the snacks, and pray hard enough… nothing will go wrong.

Truth: Even the best-laid plans unravel when a toddler skips their nap or the juice spills on the car seat you just cleaned.

I don’t know who needs to hear this (besides me), but motherhood doesn’t care about your Google Calendar.

You can print the meal plan.

You can lay out the clothes the night before.

You can write the exact minute you’ll leave for school drop-off.

And still—STILL—someone will need to poop right as you’re walking out the door.

Here’s the real talk: Planning is great. Stewardship is good.

But control is an illusion—especially when children are involved.

God doesn’t call us to perfection.

He doesn’t reward the “most organized mom” with a meltdown-free day.

    He offers something better:

Peace that doesn’t depend on everything going according to plan.

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in You.” — Isaiah 26:3

So go ahead—plan the day. Pack the snacks. Set your intentions.

But also? Hold it all loosely.

Because God is still faithful when your plan gets hijacked by a missing shoe, a forgotten permission slip, or a sibling argument over whose sock is “more socky.”

    Mom Myth Busted:

    ✅ Planning is helpful.

    ❌ Perfection is not required.

🛑 Trusting God > trusting your planner.

    Prayer for Today:

Lord, help me make plans with wisdom, but trust You with the outcome. Remind me that when my schedule falls apart, You never do.

  • 💛 You Don’t Have to Have It All Together

Isaiah 40:29 Devotional for the Worn-Out Mom

📖 “He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might he increaseth strength.” — Isaiah 40:29 (KJV)

    📝 Real Talk

There’s a version of motherhood I imagined before kids.

She always had a snack bag ready.

Her laundry was folded by color.

Her voice was soft—even during tantrums.

She smiled with her eyes and had a Bible verse for every meltdown.

    And then I became… me.

Most days, I feel like I’m behind.

    Behind on dishes.

    Behind on work.

Behind on bedtime routines and patience and self-control.

    I’m not failing—I’m just carrying a lot.

    And maybe, so are you.

    📖 Truth to Hold Onto

    Isaiah 40:29 says:

“He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak.”

It doesn’t say He blesses the Pinterest-perfect.

It doesn’t say He helps the organized, the calm, the already thriving.

It says He gives strength to the weary.

To the ones at the end of themselves.

To the mom hiding in the bathroom.

To the woman who doesn’t even know what to pray anymore.

He sees you in the undone-ness.

    And He meets you there.

🙏 Prayer for the Weary Heart

    Lord,

You never asked me to hold it all together—just to hold onto You.

    You see what I’m carrying.

You know the mental lists, the invisible labor, the emotional weight I don’t say out loud.

I don’t need more perfection. I need more of You.

Meet me in the mess and strengthen what’s barely holding.

    Amen.

💬 Encouragement for You (and a Friend)

If you’re feeling like you’re running on empty today, I want to whisper this truth to your heart:

    You’re not falling short.

    You’re just doing hard things.

And He is still offering strength, right where you’re worn thin.

You don’t have to have it all together.

    Because He already does.
