By Lizzie @ What Makes My Kid Cry Today
Real Life. Real Laughs. Real Jesus.
Today’s cry was brought to you by: disobedience, gravity, and parental blame.
I told one of my sons to turn off the bathroom light.
Simple request. Harmless task.
Naturally, he ignored me.
Mom speaks = background noise.
Moments later, he trips over his own feet, drops his entire tub of LEGOs, and wails as they scatter across the floor like plastic confetti. Cue dramatic blame:
“This is your fault! I wouldn’t have dropped them if you didn’t make me go back!”
Ah yes. Of course. I am now responsible for physics and LEGOs.
🙏 Faith from the Floor:
I laughed (quietly). But honestly? I do the exact same thing.
God gives me a nudge — turn around, pause, do this one small thing — and I brush it off. Then I trip over my own mess and shout, “Why is this happening?!”
But unlike me, God doesn’t sigh or roll His eyes.
He stays close. He doesn’t say “Told you so.”
He just helps me rebuild — piece by broken piece.
Grace looks a lot like a quiet Father kneeling down to meet me where I fell.
